You're better off running it thru COAX....
It's cheaper than microwave ....
And cheaper than laser....
But I'd suggest Microwave IF YOU HAVE TO....
You'll need an Uplink and a Downlink...and a way to convert the cable signal to a VIDEO SIGNAL...so get the cable box for that....
Now all you have to do is find a Microwave antenna installer. A couple of thousand dollars and you'll be set.
Go to www.cocoonsystems.com.au
I use it & it works a treat & only cost me $60 from an electronics store like Dick Smith or Tandy.
I think the model number is AVS50 its a wireless audio/video sender.
Plug & play in less than 5 minutes.
Get a PC with a TV Tuner and Vista Home Premium.
If you want encrypted/premium cable, get a PC with a CableCard.
Get a router that supports 802.11-n (but buy a 5 GHz one or dual band)
Buy an xbox or any other media extender.
Then you can stream HD TV from the PC to the xbox (or media extender) via wireless.
If you buy an HP Mediasmart LCD TV it has built-in extender functionality (although that function will be enabled in Jan. via a firmware upgrade).
Buy a device like this, and save $1950.05 versus buying a huge microwave dish system:

If you need a little more range, do a web search for "wireless video sender 5.8 GHz". The price will be about double.
At the link I gave you, there are lots of illustrations to show how these devices are set up and used.
