How do i connect my laptop to my television?

How do i connect my laptop to my television, so that the picture on the laptop appears on the TV screen. What cables do i need?

I have on my computer a s-video outlet. Some television monitors have the RGB input also. Either of these will work. When you get the cable connected then you have to send the computer signal down the cable. Usually function F8. But you may have to do it from your desktop. Right click then graphics and select the proper output.

An s-video cable should do the trick, although for the end going into the TV you might need to get a scart adaptor
