How do i get my cable television on to my computer?

How would i go about hooking up my cable television so i can watch t.v on my computer?

You can get a tv tuner in which you can plug a cable cord directly into your computer or you can get either a Slingbox or a Sony location free player in which it streams your cable through the internet in which you can watch your tv anywhere in the world where you can get an internet connection, but I guess that is only useful if you have a notebook.

After that it is a simple connection to your televeision's auxillary hookups.
