How do you think the media effects children and their life style?
I think it depends on the parents.
If the parents are active and teach their children the difference between the TV and real life, I don't think it's as much of an issue.
Parents who treat the TV like a free babysitter are asking for trouble.
im a teenager and i have to say it does affect me coz im addicted to the tv. the negative things are that im watching it every free minute i have and its hard to switch it off and walk away coz i feel like watching it some more. and sometimes i try to act like the characters in my episodes, i think thats the point, they try to make children be more like the characters
This is the very reason our children are the way they are today. it is not always the childrens fault....it is sometimes the parents fault for allowing the children to watch what they want and learn from that. Even the t.v. news cast are to blame because they are telling everyone how bombs were made and what they did to commit those crimes and kids are listening. So t.v. has everything to do with how children act these days. So glad mine are grown....
If they are watching a lot of television it means they are being neglected, and the tv is being used as a surrogate parent and baby sitter. The child should have activities to keep him occupied, growing, and learning, and not plopped down in front of a tv for 10 hours per day. They will get obese, lazy, and not develop good social skills.
No i dont think so
Well, I know millions of kids watch Spongebob. My little cousin is one of those kids. In a particular Spongebob episode, Spongebob was being bullied and his bully, Flance the flounder, kept telling Spongebob he was going to kick his butt. Well, my cousin went to school and repeated that line to his brother and was put in time out. I felt bad for my cousin because he's young and the things he says he learns from the "innocent" cartoons he watches.
