What is the best television company for the digital switch and DVR?

I live in Vancouver, WA and my family is trying to decide which is the best television company we should have for the digital switch. We want a DVR because we're big TV watchers, but don't want OnDemand through Comcast because they have limited TV show selections. We also would like to be able to record a show and watch it in any room, if possible. What is the best choice? Are there any alternatives you can think of? Any advice will help :)

Comcast is the best choice, especially because you can add a DVR along with the On-Demand feature. Direct TV and Dish Network both have long-term contracts, and offer great introductory rates that rocket up after 3 or 6 months, and then you can't cancel them unless you pay to break the contract ($20/mo times how many rooms. Example if you have satellite in 3 rooms and you have 6 months left in the contract, it comes to $360.) Comcast has no hidden fees or long term contracts, so even if you don't like them you can cancel at any time. Comcast also offers great introductory rates like the rest, and I don't know if the company offers it but I can offer no install fees.

I've answered the question assuming you only want T.V. If you already have Comcast or Qwest for internet or phone, it's always cheaper to bundle. However, Qwest is extremely expensive in the Vancouver area. Comcast regular rates are cheaper than Qwest in the long run, and again I can offer great introductory rates. I've done my research on all three companies and truly believe Comcast is the best in Vancouver. If you would like for me to sit down with you and go over all the pro's and con's, I would be more than willing to meet with you anywhere in Vancouver at any time, and I will present to you all the pricing and details of each provider. Email me at sergolio@gmail.com if you have any further questions or would like to meet me somewhere.

I know of a cheap (nearly lifetime free - only a cost of installation of $50) alternative: Software TV. An awesome thing to have. 3000+ channels, and you shall get all free.

This will work great if you have a reasonable internet connection - a broadband or a good wireless - dial-up is a bad option.
