What would happen if a television was set on fire?

I picked up an old TV set that was set out for the trash and I was wondering what would happen if I were to burn it at a bonfire. Would there be any kind of explosions from units inside the television or any kind of hazardous gasses I should be worried about?

Mnay TVs have magnesium in them, it burns incredibly hot and requires specialized firefighting equipment to put it out. Applying water would create an explosive reaction, don't do it. It's like Mom said, don't play with fire.

There may be a bang when the vacuum tube breaks.

I would strongly advice against burning it, as there are all sorts of nasty elements in circuitry and plastics that can be released by burning, such as:

Aromatic compounds - carcinogenic

Chlorine gas - toxic, forms hydrochloric acid

Lead - carcinogen

Just to name a few
