a monitor is a tv without a tuner and yes if you have dish a monitor will do just fine.
The difference is probably just the resolution.
The TV will receive HDTV, but display in a lesser resolution.
Without more info from you, it's hard to say. Do you know what the term "resolution" means?
It is the closeness of the individual pixels of the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube). The closer they are together, and the more of them there are, the higher the resolution, and thus the clearer the picture and deeper the colors.
But in the end, it all comes down to what looks good to you.
a monitor cant be watched and a television has reality tv.
A monitor is just like your computer monitor.
A monitor is, strictly speaking, a display which will accept a composite video input. They are used mainly in studios.
A television is a receiver which gets its signal from an antenna.
A special case is an "off-air monitor" which is also a receiver, but a very good quality receiver, used to check the transmitted picture quality.
So, assuming people are using the correct terminology, an HDTV monitor is a high-definition television monitor which needs a composite video input, and an HDTV television is a high-definition television television receiver. (I'm just expanding the abbreviation.)
A television has a Tuner built in to it, a Monitor does not. The tuner is part that recieves the TV Signal over the airwaves and translates it into a picture.
A loudspeaker is to radio reciever what a monitor is to a television receiver.
