How much should it cost to fix my television?

I have a 37 inch Polaroid television the sound started screeching, then the picture started having lines on the screen and now it will not even turn on. Should I have it check out? How much would I expect to pay? Am I better off just buying a new one? I have owned this television for 2 years and it is on a lot.

do not pay more than half of the price you paid for it.

sadly i believe it will be either too costly or impossible to repair your tv. i am a tv repair man and parts for Polaroid are hard to find.
