Why is my television emitting a high pitched whining noise?

Other than that, it works fine. The sound is only there when the television is on, and that's the only television i can hear it from. The television is also not particularly old. any idea what causes this?

It could be a speaker is to close to another speaker or a microphone resulting in feedback.
