Can cats see their reflection in the mirror? Can cats see the picture emitted from a television?

Do different types of televisions have different effects?

Write why to the mirror and television.

Yes cats can see their reflection... It's just like asking.. " Can you see your reflection?" Their eyes are still remotely like humans! So yes cats can see there reflections...

Yes cats can see what is on the television... It's very simple for them.. They just loose interest cause they cant smell it so they are not sure if it is really there so they are not very interested in your television..

Oh yes, cats see themselves in mirrors. Kittens can entertain themselves playing with their reflection in a mirror.. its hillarious to watch. Once they figure out its not another cat to play with, they get bored with it. An adult cat would probably not find looking in the mirror very entertaining... they probably figured out when they were a kitten, that its NOT another kitty. Many cats like certain tv shows too... They even make dvd's for cats, called Mewvies. The dvds feature birds tweeting, chirping, and fluttering around..mice, crickets..etc My cats will watch it 30 minutes or longer... Certain tv shows, if there are birds chirping.. or dogs , other animals on tv... it will often catch their interest, and they will watch.

Cats can see anything you can but much better when it is dark. Cats can see their own imigaes in a mirror. Why not, Images of any kind are a result of reflected or projected light.

Mirrows are no different, are they.

Cats can see TV as well. Some of them even try to play with the moving images. Why not.

Cats cannot see colors ont he red ins of the spectrum. These are shades of grey. They see some greens and blues because these are night colors. Remember that cats are nocturnal predators.

Cats can see their reflection in mirrors...but they don't recognize it as themselves. They just think it's another cat. Often they'll try to play with "the other" cat. Very few animals recognize themselves in mirrors.

Cats can see what's on televisions. Many years ago there was a PBS documentary about cats. They got to a section about kittens...my female cat saw them and got very interested. The kittens were walking outside the view of the camera...my cat kept looking all around the TV trying to find those kittens.

Yes, they can. Music and action seem to effect a response, but nothing definitive. Mine ignores her refection.

all television works. They love to watch every now and then. My conceited one sits and stares at herself in the mirror.

I am pretty sure cats can see their refection in mirrors. One of my cats loves sitting in front of the mirron and looking at himself. Sometimes he tries to like himself... It is pretty funny.

As for the TV. Ziggy, the cat from above, loves to watch anything with lions in it. I swear he knows what is going on because for days after watching a show about lions he will try to pounce on everything and "roar". So, I do think they can see the tv.

But I think it kind of depends on the cat. My other cat doesn't care about his refection of the TV... To each their own I guess.

They don't seem to notice themselves in the mirror, but they have been known to watch birds on TV...they notice quick and flitting movements such as those made by a bird...

Yes, cats can see their reflection in the mirror and if it is a kitten, they will play with their reflection. It's so cute!

My cats notice the TV sometimes, mostly when birds start chirping or if a dog barks loudly. It cracks me up. :)

Yes they can see both, my one cat bats at stuff on the tv and I have one when she was just a baby shed watch that cat for hours like it was a strange cat in the house, she grew out of it. I thought it use to be cute, Id be waiting for her to attack it, now that would have been funny.

Yes, they can see their reflection in the mirror, however I don't think they realize it is their own.. More like they think it is another cat trapped in it.. one of our cats will constantly take her two front paws and scratch at a mirror or any glass that shows a reflection of him in it, it is cute to watch...

Yes, cats can see what is on TV.. we have a couple of them that will sit at the end of the bed and watch it and they particularly like trying to catch certain images from time to time.. One cat loves our big screen downstairs and is still trying to catch the CNN thingie that moves accross the screen whenvever I watch that channel, you would think he would figure out he can't catch it by now though lol

yes to the mirror. it is simply a reflection of light and they see it the same as everything else

as for the tv, yes and no. their brains process things much faster than ours (for hunting, thats why they can catch mice and birds and we cannot) so they see it, but its all flickery and choppy, and the picture makes little sense to them. thats why they will try to attack things on there but dont really watch it.
