How do you feel about television commercials?

I am writing a paper on controversial television advertising and would like some input. How do you feel about provocative commercial that use sex or mild erotica to sell or promote their products. What are some of your favorite commercials, and what seems to be most effective for you. What makes you want to go somewhere or buy something?

Sex and mild erotica is widely used tool for advertisers. It not only catches the attention of the audience but also makes those commercials the talk of the town. I am sure you can remember quite a few times when you have found people discussing an ad cauz of its erotic nature. I love the ad of naukri.com (a job search site) in the ad an employee spells the name (Mr Hari) of his boss as H for Hitler A for Arrogant R for Rascal and I for Idiot, it is a funny ad and has a very strong message. I personally think people using sex for advertisement believe strongly that " Sex Sells" I think they don't want to put in extra effort to make a good commercial and rely on sex. I want to buy something when the price is less than the value OR the value is more than the price :)

Dear, while I appreciate that this is the "homework help" category, you have just asked us to write your whole paper for you. I'll stop short of that and tell you my favorite "charged" commercial, and let you work out the details:

There is a Bud Light commercial which you can only see on the website, as TV would not play it. A guy is hiding under the bar (at a pub) and the bartender mistakes his ***hole for the bottle opener, much to the guy's distress. It is very funny, and while it is nowhere near erotica, it does use a "sexual area" to promote its product. Look up the commercial, it was supposed to air at the last superbowl.

some are funny but they are mostly annoying when I'm getting in a show that I'm watching and they have to break for commercial it ticks me off.

They are a horrible nuisance and none of them would induce me to buy anything; most of them are positively stupid and inane; it's only once in a while someone has produced a really witty one.

If I'm already paying for cable, I shouldn't have to be exposed to commercials at all. I mean, advertisement is supposed to pay for the programming. If I have to pay for the programming, why should I pay again? It's like taxing a tax!

Commercials suck and they are a waste of time despite the method, means and product.

GEICO commercials are funny, though - I have to admit.

I LIKE COMMERCIALS BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE WHAT THE PRODUCT IS AND HOW A PERSON REACTS TO IT. WITHOUT COMMERCIALS PEOPLE WOULD BE CLUELESS. THEY WILL QUESTION THE PRODUCT AND I DON'T THINK THAT PEOPLE WOULD NOT BUY THE PRODUCT. YES COMMERCIALS SUCK BUT HEY TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH WE NEED COMMERCIALS. All I know is that commericials should have a special program to feature them. They are so buggin.

TV commercials are a good way to keep the public informed about new products.

I think it makes us violet the 10th commandment... :P.. and it takes us sometimes to commit the ones before... :D...

it onyl makes us want more and more and more.. but then we slap when we are full of debt...

The unfortunate truth is sex sells. Big time.

So while some might be over the top or even offensive that is what gets your attention. Even if it is your attention in a negative way however it might have captured your attention that is what you remember.

And actually you are even pron to remember it better if it angers or offends you.

The makers of these commercials know something is over the top and that is what makes it good!!!

No commercials make me wanna go out and buy something. I'm not persuaded with their advertising. I think that they are just a waste of time. Commercials suck.

Commercials never make me wanna by nething, but they do make my laf. The only rezun i watch the SuperBowl is 4 da commercials.

tv commercials are exagerations bashing other produscts. Usualy i would want to buy some thing with no disadvantages, a good price and proven to work.
