How Does a Television Work and What Are the Positive and Negative Aspects of a Television?

this is for a report for tech...i need to know how a television works in detail, what are the pros and cons of a television over its life span, who is the inventor, when and where it was developed, and what other technologies have developed as a result of the television. for my bibliography i need at least one book, encyclopedia, computer, and magazine.
